The Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing and providing for maintenance and construction of City infrastructure including; water and wastewater systems, roads and streets, parks, capital improvement projects, and the acquisition and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. The department also oversees animal control, cemetery maintenance, Heritage Rodeo Arena and airport management.

Crossley Park is located on the southwest corner of U S Route 66 and Howard Cavasos Blvd (aka New Mexico Highway 41). With its gazebo, lighted marquee, and picnic tables, the park is used for official City events, community activities, as well as private events such as weddings and family reunions.
The City of Moriarty/Memorial Gardens Park is commonly referred to as Civic Park. It is located just south of the Municipal Offices. A full-service park, it offers three tennis courts, a basket ball court, playground equipment, picnic tables with canopies, restrooms, and a concession stand (used by the City for official events due to the food permit process).
B.M. Grissom Park, commonly known as Parkwood Park, is located in the Parkwood Subdivision. A small park, it offers playground equipment, a basketball court, and a small expanse of grass.
The Memorial of Perpetual Tears Park is located north of Interstate 40 and west of New Mexico Highway 41 along Abrahames (frontage road) and Broadway Street/Valley Irrigation. The purpose of the Memorial is to bring to the forefront the devastation and pain that Driving While Impaired (DWI) causes by recognizing the victims of this horrible crime and educating the public in areas of law, prevention, statistics, victim advocates resources and available services
In 2003 the City of Moriarty adopted the project of the Memorial of Perpetual Tears making it eligible for public funding. In the next four years, legislative funding and donations made it possible to build the New Mexico Phases of the Memorial. The project grew at a steady pace, and in 2006 a National Phase was added. The Moriarty Sports Complex is located on Saiz Drive and offers six baseball fields with bleachers, an announcer's booth, concrete dugouts, public restrooms, fire hydrants, developed parking, landscaping, sidewalks, scoreboards, equipment building, effluent reuse facility, and utilities. Local baseball and softball leagues use these facilities during the season.
Heritage Rodeo Arena offers bleachers, an announcer's booth, bucking bull and roping chutes, a holding pen, lighting, and portable concession. Rodeos take place weekly throughout the summer and can draw as many as 300 visitors.
