DO YOU KNOW A HERO?

A Local Hero is someone whose volunteer service to others embraces the sense of community, and who has not received an award for this volunteer effort. Local Hero honors people alive or deceased who recognize their responsibility to their community and possess a selfless dedication to the betterment of others and the betterment of our community.

HOW TO NOMINATE

Applicants can be nominated by an individual or group. A selection committee will review all nominations. We will select one individual. Each nomination must be submitted on a separate form. Incomplete forms may be considered ineligible for assessment. Heroes will be announced Quarterly and be featured on our website.

Recognition Criteria

Nominees are individuals, age 15 or older, whose volunteer service directly benefits the Moriarty Community, citizens and/or organizations through:

Performing outstanding volunteer work as an individual or a company
Serving as a community role model and mentor
Demonstrating random acts of kindness
Fundraising and charitable contributions that support youth or senior programs, animal interests, local non-profits, humanitarian aid and arts and culture

When making your nomination, please provide a one-page summary describing how the nominee meets the following award criteria. Where possible, provide examples to support the statements.

1. What has the individual contributed to their community to make them eligible for Local Hero Recognition? Do they fundraise? If so, how much money have they raised?
